Let me remember what a treasure you are.
Except that today isn’t really “normal.”
I finished up the cleaning and laundry yesterday and the chair project on my list for today came to an abrupt halt when I realized I still didn’t have the correct size cording.
It’s grey and lazy outside.
It’s quiet and blissfully less-pressured inside.
It’s not freezing cold.
The cardinals are not so shy at the feeder.
It may just be one of my favorite days in December.
(6:30 this morning, no kidding)
(ready for school on time … unlike yesterday)
(mixing brownies … are you the mom who is in never in the pictures? Go take some. One day your children will wonder what you looked like)

Sounds like a lovely “normal” day.
I love the last picture. So cute. =)
Happy Weekend to you.
i am that mom who is never on photos. how do you do it? self-timer? adam? I have no adam
loved the pictures…. normal days are nice.
I like the picture of Adam waiting with the dog.It brings back memories of when my three kiddos walked to the bus stop with our Lab.That dog (like allot of others)could tell what time it was.Afternoons he would go the door and wanted to be left out shortly before it was time for them to be dropped off.I miss him…….And yes,the Mom usually doesn’t get in the pictures. 😉
I loveeee days at home, normal or not I guess.
Now if only I could get up at 6:30 without “wanting” to go back to bed.
Beautiful pictures! I like the neat window one for sure. Being ready for school on time is a bit of a problem here as well. Good tip for the mom’s there, so often we forget to take a photo including us…..
mmm. I can just feel the deliciousness of a day like that. Especially for you, who seems to be very organized and disciplined and BUSY. I’ve been thinking, too, about being in pictures. I LOVE to see photos of my mom when she was younger. And I love to see photos of more than just the children on blogs too. But I don’t like to see myself on photos. 🙁 It’s nice when your children get old enough to take photos with you on them. But it still feels a little silly to say, “OK, take one with me on it now.”
My favorite shot up there is the one through the window. And the naptime one. And you looking cute in the kitchen.

@fruitloops115 – it’s called digging out the tripod 😉
@quiet_hearts – I have been way too busy the last two months (mostly my own fault) and woke up feeling sick this morning. That’s why I don’t stop. B/c stopping the madness lets me see how mad it really is and my body crashes. Got to go get ready for guests tonight.
@seekinHISwisdom – yeah, me too, on the not wanting to go back to bed part
Love that picture of Adam waiting with the dog. It is kind of wistful. Not sure why. And yes, I make sure to take at least some pictures with me in them. Even though, as Luci said, I feel a little bit silly about it sometimes. Like “Hey, don’t forget about taking a picture of me.” Liam up on the counter looks so normal to me. (my kids do that kind of thing all the time)
‘Normal’ can be the happiest place on earth. I could use a ‘normal’ one of these days.
I loved your son and his dog so sweet! I am the mom behind the camera too, and NEVER in the pictures, only when I ask my husband to snap them when I am in them :O) Good idea for digging out the tripod! Your pictures are always lovely~
Bravo to you for not being too hurried and perfectionistic to let your kiddos help bake! My mom was great about that (altho I’ll never know where she found the time!) and it’s just something special and irreplaceable, I think. Please, God, help me remember to take the time to make memories like that with my kids!
ah, the beauty of ordinary days!
love to you my friend & a very Merry Christmas.xo
your normal is putting a big smile on my face! from liam’s rooster tails to adam out the window to bare piggies while cooking…happysighlove.
and i’m with luci too, “And you looking cute in the kitchen.” 🙂
merry MERRY Christmas to a dear friend! love.
