I’m a big brother now. Adam was so excited Monday night when I told him he would get to meet his brother on Wednesday. We had to go through the story so many times…”tonight we will go to bed and sleep, then tomorrow we will go to Emily’s house and sew. Then we’ll come home for your nap and Mommy will clean up the house and make supper……………….” and so the tale spun. He was fascinated. “Mommy will it make a loud pop when the baby comes out of your tummy?” Come to think of it, I did feel like an overinflated balloon, or maybe even a tractor tire.
24 hours old….let’s go home, little one.
Adam broke out in a bizarre rash Thursday morning at Mom’s house. In spite of my fear of strange and dangerous childhood diseases I didn’t have the heart to tell him he couldn’t touch Liam. His adoration is immeasurable. “Mommy, I want to hold him. Mommy, just put him here on the couch with me. He looks so much like me. Why does he, mommy? He just likes to sleep all warm and toasty with me. Mommy get me a book then I’ll read him a story. But mommy, I’m not done holding the baby.”
I had to take Liam to see the pediatrician this morning just to make sure he was really ok (part of my side of the agreement to get me out of the hospital in 24 hrs in spite of being strep positive). I didn’t relish the idea of going to town on day two at all; but I would have ended up going anyway. Adam was not only rash-coated, his knuckles were getting swollen. Liam dropped 8 oz; but otherwise is doing fine. Adam has a serious amoxicillen allergy and won’t be able to take anything in the penicillen family from here on out. I don’t even want to think about all the ramifications of that right now. I just keep saying, “thank God it’s not one of those wierd things that causes horrible complications in newborns.”
“Mommy, I can burp him. Just put the diaper on my neck like you do. Where does Daddy pat him?” You’ve just got to love having a four-year-old!
I can’t get over the miracle of you
Great gifts truly do come in small packages

Michelle, Your children are so precious!! Enjoy every moment you have with them, and may God richly bless you with wisdom, patience, love, and all you need to be His example in leading them the Heaven. With love, Judy
I know we don’t know each other, but I just love reading your posts! Your little baby is just precious!! And so is Adam. He sounds like such a little man!
What a beautiful baby boy!! Congratulations!! So happy for you! Adam just tickles me with all his cute comments and observations…. God bless you much as you adjust and enjoy you precious little miracle!!!
He’s is adorable. And you look SO good!! Some of my kids had reactions to amoxicillan too…after been on it numerous times before. Very weird.
I like the picture of Adam holding Liam on the couch…the one where Liam’s wearing his very. cute. overalls. π Well and the one where Adam’s burping him. All of them make me want to BE there!!! He looks so tiny on the picture where you’r changing him.
I so happy for y’all! Give him a smoochy kiss for me; I can’t wait to meet both of your boys. Carolyn
Michelle, your little one is darling! Hope you’re feeling okay and things with Adam get straightened out. . .and that your nights are going well.
Awww! Those are so precious! My favorite is you reading the story while Adam “burps” Liam! π
Liam is a beautiful baby. He looks alot like Adam did right at first. I can’t wait to hold him!!! Just wait till Elliot is better. Do you want me to bring a meal or something?
I just had to tease you a little bit for taking our boy name. =) Actually, it was more like me saying, “Honey, if we have a boy this time, can we name him Liam?” and Darrel wasn’t quite covinced yet. =) The other day Darrel and I were talking and he said “I’m just curious what D Lee’s will name their little boy.” I laughed and said, “More than likely they’re going to name him Liam.” I laughed and laughed when I heard what his name is. =) When I heard how ya’ll used it, I almost liked it better than a name in itself. Anyways, I for one love the name!
He is just ADORABLE!! Oh isn’t he tiny…!! Last yr a mom came to church with her 2 day old baby girl, and i don’t think i’d seen a baby that tiny b4… π she was a normal size n all, but just seemed so tiny! My fav pic is of baby Liam lying all curled up! And Adam is just sooo cute! Give them both a hug for me!
oh, that is so exciting and he’s adorable! Makes me want to snuggle a newborn again….enjoy, and like they alllll say, it won’t last forever….
It is so precious to see Adam enjoying his little brother, and they do look like brothers!
I love the picture of them laying on the couch. CUTE π
Michelle, he is just adoarble! I can hardly wait for mine to come!!!
I saw your aunts last night at the wedding… π
Poor Liam….getting smothered with lots of brotherly love! Adam looks pleased as can be and I can almost hear those newborn grunts.
He is absolutely darling! I’m sure you’re having lots of fun with him!! And does he puke???
Such precious little boys you have…….
SUCH a precious little miracle! Wishing it would be my turn!
Your small package is so cute !
Such a darling little baby. Wish I was ready to deliver!!!!!! Adam is going to be such a big helper!
You have a very cute little boy! I love your pictures!
So sorry about all the sickness in your family. What did Adam have? I went to the doctor several weeks ago for some of the same symptoms. He said I had fifth disease which I had never heard of. But other people are getting it too and I am sure I got it from my family…..not life threatening though! Hope the next several months are not too hectic!
Those first few weeks can be rough–hope everyone is better around your house soon. And those pictures are making me so impatient to have a newborn to hold and take pictures of. Anna was looking at Liam and saying, “Oh! Baby!” over and over again. The scrunched up little face is too precious for words.
such a precious cutie…so glad its over and you both are doing well-
