Goldi has grown very fat. We were worried she’s pregnant but when David Lee took her to the vet for a sore on her foot he couldn’t feel puppies. He said she’s either pregnant or has congestive heart failure.
Now she’s on my front porch (a big no-no) and I think she’s in labor. I’ve never seen a dog in labor but it’s either that or she’s dying and from human experience it looks a lot like the former. She’s got her head stretched out and she’s having terrible pain that makes her whine every few minutes and her whole body sort of shakes and moves.
Honey, I think you’d better come home. I want out of here NOW. I don’t like this kind of stuff.

Well, from human experience dying and labor feel pretty close to the same thing…. welll, Iguess I’ve never died, but I thought I might a time or two. Good luck on the midwife duties:)
Oh my!!
Ummm. No help here. Maybe she heard you were a nurse, hence the front porch. š
Yeah, I think she’s begging for your help! But don’t worry “babes”…I’m on my way!! š
Awww poor pooch! I’d give her an old blanket or something for the puppies and pretty much leave it to her.
Hope that’s all it is!
So What’s the verdict? How many puppies or is she dead? Hope not.
I like what yodertime said. š
Let us know what the outcome is!
yeah, what has the whining and shaking brought about by now?
i laughed and laughed at this post.
Sorry I laughed too. but definately prefer to find baby pups than to have to watch them be born on my front steps…
Can I come over? I’d kinda like to watch!
Poor dog…Any pups yet?! š I sure wouldn’t wanna watch! š
Michelle, please, it’s been two days, tell us. I am right with you on the H.E.L.P. Remember the cat that was having kittens in the fern bed the night before your wedding? I looked down over the rail to find out what the pitiful cries were; she looked up at me…..and I knew right then. I went back inside as much for my own sake as hers.
Our dog has had puppies several times, and I must admit that it’s quite fascinating. She’s usually pretty quiet about it, but there have been two times when things didn’t go normally, and we were afraid we were going to lose her. So. . . how many puppies do you have?
