Chesed

My feet hurt all day long today.  When I sat down to feed Liam, I sighed and dreamed aloud of a foot rub.  Adam jumped up and said, “I’ll give you one.”  Not exactly the masseuse I had in mind.  Still who could resist?

He tramped up the steps for some lotion and returned beaming.  The tops of my feet were soon slathered.  Well, the right one much heavier then the left “because that’s the driver’s side.”  The bottoms of my feet didn’t need anything, he thought.

And so he rubbed and rubbed until the lotion mostly disappeared.  “See mommy, this bone is your skeleton bone.”

“Ok,” he said, “you’ll have to see Dr. Hawkes in in one week because this lotion is poison.”

“What???” I said.

“Yeah, see the lotion just went inside into the blood and now the bone went down here.  See the patella just came down here and then the lotion and blood mixed up and then the femur went in here and the blood separated and then the blood vessels are in here and then when you get an ouchy the lotion will come out,” he rambled still patting the top of my foot.

And he says he wants to be a semi-driver when he grows up???

    Oh. my. word.
    That is TOO funny!!!
I know the achy feet feeling…my dear man gave me a good foot massage a couple of nights ago, and I thought that I’d died & gone to heaven.  Ahhhhhhhhhh………………  Hope you get a “real” foot rub soon.

Seriously, he used the words “femur” and “patella”?  I am amazed.  And I wanted to comment before but haven’t had the time.. I found out that you married “one of Ivan Beachy’s boys” thanks to the pictures you posted.  I’m not sure how I know who they are, but I do. (Ok actually I know who Ivan Beachy’s are thanks to my Grandpa who liked Ivan very much)  Ah.. the Mennonite game.

It is sooooo  amazing what kids come up with. By the way  your  mother-in-law’s (Elsie) dad married us in Chestertown Maryland 37 years ago so we know both sides of your in-laws as he had bishop oversite their then.       Pops

That little boy’s brain amazes me!! And he’s hilarious. What cracked me up the most was that he used femur, blood vessels, patella, and ouchy all in the same sentence!
Oh and I hope you have fun being examined by a pediatrician… 🙂

What a brain!  He’ll do great things some day!  And somehow I’m not surprised that your feet hurt you all day long!  All that running around on Sat. would have put a hurtin on mine too!

Tell Adam I am next in line for a foot massage/assessment if Dr. Clark’s treatment doesn’t help.   I just know it would feel awesome!    It’s my turn in the Mennonite Game.   Writersblock writes: “thanks to my Grandpa who liked Ivan very much.”  I wonder does she know her grandpa was an uncle to Ivan which makes her dad and Ivan first cousins?
