To all my mom friends … whether you’re dragging or bouncing this cloudy Monday … I mixed up the Irish blessing just for you:
May your floors stay clean for an hour
May your oven clean itself
May your laundry fly back into drawers
May you feel inspired for supper
And until bedtime comes
May your voice be graced with patience
And your children know your love.

Oh thanks Michelle. I almost posted a picture to facebook of my huge monday laundry pile, and my huge monday morning kitchen mess, but I thought it would be too depressing. This is much more encouraging!
AMEN!!
Beautiful! I needed this. π
O. wow. do you know how I need that? My kids were fighting at 6 this morning. True story.
…and my children know my love…:)
loved this “blessing”.
i needed it this snowy, sick-kid-home-from-school day.
with so much laundry surrounding me that i am thinking of just shooting it all with Weldon’s rifle.
as if that would solve anything.
i’ll accept that gladly!
Thank you!
thanks! a menno-irish blessing…can’t beat that! π
Definitely dragging this yucky Monday…thanks….the laundry is flying here, but it’s flying around the living room, instead of into the drawrs, thanks to my boys who are supposed to be folding laundry….now this Mom better get off the computer…
I love the original Irish blessing, and I love your version even better! Thank you! π
arg. missed this yesterday. could have used it yesterday a.m. thankfully the day went from bad to better instead of the other way
Can people claim this who don’t have visible children yet? ‘Cause I, for example, can think of ways to use it… π Thanks!
Had to giggle at the mental image of all my unfolded wash “flying” up the stairs, down the hall and into their respective rooms and drawers. π I’d hope nothing was in the way, cause you just might lose yourself in that made dash! ((hugs)) Thank you for your uplifting words… π
O my word!! Adam is a minature YOU… that determined look is just you all over! π Love the blessing esp the last two lines; too often my patience is long gone before bedtime! π
This isn’t Monday anymore, but I will take it today. Thank you. And same to you! π
I really liked this! I have no kids of my own, but it inspired me just the same. π
I missed this on Monday! Maybe that’s why the laundry didn’t fly into my drawers! π
What a fun Monday morning post…even though it’s now Friday.
Hope you have a great weekend.
Sweet picture of your son. =)
