Part of what makes a three-year-old so funny is that you never know what to expect next.  I was working in the kitchen; but half of me was listening to Adam’s delightful rendition of church.  He was both the song leader and the preacher and apparently had been the usher because he’d designated certain people to certain chairs.  I helped sing, “Round the walls of Jericho,” and, “Jesus went about doing good,” and listened to stories about the children of Israel crossing the Red Sea.  Finally I decided to actually become part of the audience.  Adam was radiant.  “Good to have all of you here,” he said.  “Turn in your song books to number 129.”  I flipped through Mother Goose to what I assumed was the correct page.  He shuffled around in his pocket, produced a pitch pipe, and began directing, “Old McDonald had a Farm.”

That is too funny…but I wonder what makes them decide what to pretend. Alex refuses to play church, he never does it at home and the other day I heard one of his girl cousins say “let’s play church”, and his answer was a resounding, scornful “NO”!! Church has been a struggle for him since sitting still is not his strong point, I guess he figures he gets enough of that. =) I just thought of it though that he does pretend to preach and at times leads “the chorus” – so maybe that is his version. =)

I would be glad to bring my “Sunday clothes” to be a part of the service but when I told him I want to come to your house tomorrow he would be going to work at Commonwealth.  : ) Grammie

yeah, Mom, you know he’s WAY too much “big man” to be around on a ladies day.  Be prepared to have him run out to the porch with his tools.  That’s what he said Sunday morning when I told him the Schlabach girls were coming over that afternoon and he did exactly that.

Your vacation pics look so wonderful, glad you all got to spend time away.  I always think that money spent on a family vacation is well worth the priceless memories.  The pictures of the house look weird because my camera lens was dirty, plus the walls only have one coat of paint.  The brown is just plain and the cabinets aren’t glazed, just natural maple colored.  My hubby has picked out everything in the kitchen except the countertop.  He did a superb job!  I would love to meet Adam, he sounds like quite the boy.  MB
