Some days are just delicious.

We had our first and only night at home yesterday with just our little family this week.  Homemade pizza, Checkers, Pick up Sticks, and a bit of read aloud time with Pippi Longstocking.

Today the sun is barely flirting with the clouds after a dark, grey yesterday.  The forecast promises a high of 62.  In Maryland.  In January.  Josh Groban tones lighten the quiet of a house devoid of boys gone with Dad to make an exchange in town.  Cleaning vehicles is the most pressing demand of the day.  Friends are coming over for dinner.

Nothing major happening is phenomenally underrated.

I normally do not like warm weather in January, but this 80* in Georgia is too beautiful not to like. πŸ™‚
Plus, I get a date with Husband tonight near the coast, which hasn’t happened, in like, wow, years?
Date near the coast, that is, not date. Although dates with three kiddos aren’t as often as we’d like either!

Family nights at home are the best. The older I get the more I just LOVE to stay home.
With little planned, except for a little bit of fun with friends sprinkled throughout. πŸ™‚

Oh yes. I even love winter, but this weather is GORGEOUS. Totally invigorating. We’re taking the day off of thinking and doing “big things” and doing all the little, normal, Saturday things. It is way therapeutic.

That really does sound like the perfect evening at home! Beautiful picture Michelle! It’s funny because we are having a cold snap here in CA. There was even a chance of snow in the forecast for our town and that almost never happens!

Yes.  Some days are just delicious.  A quiet house and friends to dinner, with memories of a good family night would be a perfect combination.  I hope the whole day went off in that delicious fashion.

@lifeisadance –  date near the coast? Shouldn’t that actually be spelled DATE? πŸ™‚ Sounds heavenly! And I’m trying to just gloss over that little 80 degree tidbit with more cold in our forecast.
@Just1BeachNut –  Day off thinking? YES! That pretty much describes it.
@inanorchard –  I bet cold feels doubly cold there when you aren’t used to it. Did you get snow?
@jennieanne84 –  Car cleaning is never fun, but it’s at least easier when it’s warm. You should have seen the inside of our van. Or then again, maybe not. We literally mud bog going in and out what is supposed to be our lane so I bet you can imagine. πŸ™‚
@quiet_hearts –  It actually was. Amazing.

I LOVE that phrase!! “Nothing major happening..” That has been most of my January and it’s so refreshing to rest, wait and say no to some busy-ness. I really love winter for that reason.
Lovely seeing you here, hope to see more of you in person as well!

@miamimyamy –  Amy!!!!!!!! How fun to see you here! And yes, I hope, too, we will get to see more of each other sometime soon! I often think of you, Amelia, and I standing there talking as fast as we could at Jessica’s wedding and it always makes me smile!
