November 012

Ten of them alive and well.  One born a bit later, stillborn, er, whatever you call them when it’s puppies.  I mean, no fair.  Just squat, grunt, and squeeze out another puppy.  And then have someone move you and family into a bigger home with room service provided at no extra charge.  And all you do is take care of puppies.  Goldi is up and wagging her tail.  No trouble fitting into pre-pregnancy clothes.  I say.  No fair.

Oh, and does anyone want a puppy?

I don’t think we want one either, but I do want to see them.  10 puppies – I was incredulous; it’s been too long since I lived on the farm .  Oh, and did you hear Adam tell me they weren’t born in a hospital?  Er…you haven’t done that……thought that might balance things a little.   He said too, they weren’t wrapped up.  Make sure Mama Goldi has plenty of water and food.   I’ll be calling soon as it suits.

Oh my goodness…Black puppies??!  What a hoot I just roared:)  I might be over there once they’re bigger…I love dogs but no thanks I don’t think I want any of hers..sorry.:)

Not fair, no. But can you imagine having 10 babies? Are you firing your vet? Does he know what he’s doing? hey, I’m tempted to adopt one. We just got Kiersten a kitty that she harasses; maybe a puppy and kitty could team up against the onslaught.

Wow! Ten puppies!!!!!!!!!!! Do you have any idea who the daddy might be 🙂
I also wondered why in the world the vet couldn’t find ANY puppies when there were ten of them!
I bet Adam is having fun with them 🙂

Hey, no fair! How did Goldi know that black Golden Retrievers are extremely rare and are worth a couple of thousand dollars a piece?!  We never had even one. . .and she had 10!!!! 😛  Have fun with them!

Imagine having 10 puppies packed like sardines inside Goldie, no wonder vet didn’t know she was pegnant, the puppies couldn’t even wiggle. You’ll have fun in a few weeks when they’re out and about, climbing all over your boys. That’s boy heaven!

Congratulations on all 10 of them!

I was reading the post out loud with Ravi looking on.  When I read the last sentence, I quickly found out he WAS listening because he quickly informed me that WE WANT ONE, and he’s SURE daddy wants one too!

Looks like Goldie is a Golden Retriever? Ours had 11 puppies 2-1/2 weeks ago and this was her first litter. We were all set to have to feed some of them or have some of them die, since that always happened with our cocker spaniel. But they all survived and she is a good mom! I was sooo impressed. Of course we are feeding her extras, seems she is always hungry, but after all, feeding 11 puppies!!! From what I’ve heard since, Golden Retrivers must be good ‘moms’, the biggest litter I heard of that all survived was 15!
Guess if you’d be nursing 11 babies, you wouldn’t have any problem fitting in pre-pregnancy clothes either…

@twitterbugnco – I could handle having $20K sitting out in our barn!!!  If only she were registered and they weren’t 50% like their very black NON-golden retriever daddy!  I told David Lee about your comment and said it’s almost enough to make me think about raising puppies.  He said, “and then our puppies would die and have trouble w/ birth and we’d be all worried sick b/c every puppy means this much money…”  Now if we can just figure out a way to GIVE these away.

@janelleandco – I think Kiersten really needs a puppy.  Hey, I think pretty much every child in church under the age of 10 needs a puppy right now!

@smilesbymiles – Actually if they’re truly pure-bred Golden Retrievers, there’re usually 1 or maybe 2 black puppies in a litter and the rest are a regular golden color.  It very rarely happens that just the right genes get together to produce black Goldens (most breeders never see one).  Good luck with finding homes for them!  I’m sure Chadwick would love one. . .except that we have quite enough dogs already!
