It’s happening! It’s happening! It’s really happening! We are actually starting with the fun parts of building a house. The part that makes it look more and more like a house and less and less like a project. I was so excited the night after I started painting I could hardly sleep! This is so much fun! Adam loves to paint so I let him help with the kitchen knowing any streaks would get covered by cabinets in a few weeks. He was delighted. I painted the living room while he was home with aunt Beth. The next day he walked in and kept saying, “It looks SO much better in here. Wow. It looks awesome!” I love that his love language is words of affirmation just like mine!
Adam also wants to do everything daddy does. He wasn’t too happy when he wasn’t allowed to use the chop saw or have the van keys (“but I NEED not be sixteen” he declared). Things got much better when he could help putty nail holes and he was ultra-delighted to “wear paint to church” today.

Thanks for your kind comment! I’ve always loved to write; it’s much easier for me to express myself on paper or through the keyboard than by verbal means.
After reading through your last several posts, I find myself wishing that I’d know you, too. Do you mind if I subscribe to your site? ~Jo
You look like quite the sophisticated painters. Pretty nice clothes compared to some I’ve seen. ; ) So glad the color selection is (almost) behind us and can’t wait to see the real thing!!!!
And, yes, I desperately wish for good discussions! Among many other things that were a part of those days.
Much love
I would love to someday see the “finished” house, since I hear about it in all great detail from Chris. 🙂 I am so glad that things are finally going faster for you! I love the pictures of Adam, what a cutie! Best wishes on your house! jo
