This fall weather that isn’t really fall is just warming me up all the way through! If I’d have closed my eyes yesterday and just sniffed, I could have believed it was Spring. The sun warming up the muddy ground had that perfect “earth waking up from winter” smell. As long as you stayed away from areas of decaying leaves.

The boys and I were getting ready to head out on a walk when Adam said, “Hey, let’s go to the park.” What a great idea! We started getting ready to go much to my own surprise and then (since I am rarely enough a spontaneous person) I surprised myself even further by calling up a friend who IS a spontaneous person to see if she wanted to go with us. Her babies were sleeping so we stopped to pick up the older two girls and had a fabulous time!

Adam, Gwenyth and Danika went up and down the hill on their bikes so many times I lost count. Every time they went further and faster. Gwenyth’s training wheels slowed her down and Danika couldn’t go very fast with her tiny little bike; but Adam was a different story. He pedaled as fast as he could and one time his bike and his head started whipping from side to side as he hit the bridge. I couldn’t believe he didn’t wipe out; but he stayed upright. After that I turned into the bike police woman for awhile and dictated where they could start and how fast they could go. Adam was telling David and Ryan last night about his biking stunts and they told him, “Those are the things you just do when you’re mom isn’t around.”

That settled things until tonight when Adam was talking about going to the park again. “And, Daddy, this time I want to just fly. Mommy just controlled me and controlled me and it was just over my head.”
David: “What was over your head?”
Adam: “I don’t know. It was just over my head. That controlling.”

And now after a five hour pause I can’t for the life of me remember what I was going to write next. Not to mention, the energizer bunny batteries are failing me.

I wish my day would have been that productive. Mine was run to bank, stop at walmart, have tea with friend,  quick nap, clean up the house, couple loads of laundry between, make supper, sit on face book =)

What a funny little guy Adam is. =)  I think it’s hilarious how he can verbalize when he feels like he’s being controlled. =)

Hope your batteries kick in high gear and may I ask, which yard sale??

I loved Adam’s comment… sooo funny!!  The older they get the less you want to know what your son does out of your presence… it’s downright scary!!!   (and daddy just encourages and eggs him on!!!)

Ok.  That is just TOO funny!  “Mom just controlled me and controlled me.”  I was just listening to a talk on “Family Life Today” this morning about letting boys be boys.  I think I am learning some about that and how they’ll learn if they get hurt, but sometimes as Mom’s we don’t really want to see them learn through getting hurt, we’d rather “control and control!”  Sounds so much like I can be sometimes.  And also got a kick out of the guys telling him “You need to do that stuff when Mom’s not around.”  Sounds exactly like something Jeremy would say.  And that’s when I give him “the look.”
