Today
~ 2.5 hours on the road
~ annoying, no fault* fender bender
~ 3 bushels of apples made into applesauce
~ a cricket serenading us most of the way home in yet another bushel of apples ( can anyone say aNnoYinG? )
~ getting home to find out the proof that supposedly was in production is now only actually ready for approval and we already have orders for three cases we can’t fill til they come
~ insurance phone calls
~ more book orders
~ my “important” schedule for tomorrow getting disrupted with body shop visits
But,
Today was also
~ making applesauce at Mom’s house instead of my own (!)
~ yummy lunch (!)
~ help from Beth (!)
~ unloading my heart to Mom and hearing t-r-u-t-h … something I desperately needed in the face of a lot of misunderstanding and criticism (!!!)
Today also =
~ exhaustion (more mental than physical)
~ hot dogs for dinner (thank God for Liam-friendly leftovers in the freezer)
~ early bedtime (one can only hope)
The end.
* the no fault fender bender??? Thanks to the utility people who were messing with the lights and apparently gave two of us a green light simultaneously. WHY in the world would they mess with a major intersection at a busy time of the morning? Why are they not considered liable for this?

the fender bender sounds more annoying than a cricket, 😉 Had a cricket serenading me this morning. I guess I better quit complaining about all my time in the car and be thankful for safety instead.
I should add, actually, i was getting a bit annoyed at my cricket too. 🙂
Crickets drive me insane…had one in the house once.
SOMEONE should be responsible for it, right?! That sounds more like a prank they were pulling or something.
Hope your day does end well with good bed times!
@Esther_lynn –
exponentially more so. And the insurance aftermath another hundred times annoying.
@JsSteph7 –
No kidding. There were three men there in uniform at the switch box. You would think they would have at least had the graciousness to come over and apologize.
glad the fender bender wasn’t anything more. hoping you got that early bedtime tonight~ and as Cindy would say, “why didn’t Noah slap those two crickets when he had the chance!!!” 😉 hee hee. i’m thinking if i had been mr. noah there would be a lot less animals in the world…
love to you friend~
I think I need a talk with your Mom, too. Is she for sale?;)
The way you described your mom is the kind of mom I want to be someday!…when I grow up, that is.
So that after my kids have spent time with me, they walk away feeling encouraged.
Glad God blessed you in that way!
Oh, and the fender bender?
absolutely…someone should be being held responsible!
Glad you had the good ‘points’ to make up for the bad ones:) And theres no one better to talk to than beloved mom!!:)
I would think the fender bender situation could be appealed…errrr…probably if you were willing to sue, you could get them to be held accountable. Is it worth it? Probably not.
Amazing how much happens in one day. Good and not so good. Glad in the end…it was all ok. 🙂
Enjoyed hearing about your busy day.
You can be so thankful for a Mom who you can pour your heart out too.
And I find crickets to be VERY annoying also! I may have even pulled over and went searching for that thing!
that’s awful about your wreck but glad it wasn’t any worse. It’s nice to have insurance but such a pain to get all the car fixing worked out.
it’s likely the utility company hired an ADD guy to work the lights and he just HAD to change things up a bit. He was prob thinking, man, it’s been the same old routine for like, 20 minutes now!!! but wow, they should def hand out some insurance to you….
i was happy you had Liam-friendly food in the freezer.
and i was thankful you could spill your heart to your mom and hear truth. i am just now able to talk to my mom a bit more deeply…she is so much more understanding. and of course I am not nearly so bratty.
